Here at Adams Motorsport Marketing, we like to stay ahead of all things motorsport, and it was with this in mind that our CEO, Mike Adams, visited on the Goodwood Revival on Sunday. This event holds a special place in most classic car enthusiasts’ diaries, but it holds an especially special place in Mike’s heart, as Goodwood was the circuit where he competed in his last race, back in 2011. On that occasion, he finished behind Derek Bell in another E-type Jaguar in the 50th Anniversary race.
Mike’s feedback was that the event had its usual wonderful atmosphere and was a great chance to catch up with old friends on a sunny Sunday in September, while watching some amazing, top-class classic racing and taking a good look at some unbelievably beautiful classic cars covering all aspects of the sport. Classic F1 cars, sports cars, tin-tops — it’s all here in glorious fashion at the Goodwood Revival.
This event is a must-visit for any classic car enthusiast. Held in a wonderful setting, the event never fails to shine, and Mike particularly enjoyed the RAC TT race at 4pm. It looked like the race was heading the way of Mike Whitaker in his TVR Tuscan — a very deserving winner in a previous year — but it seems the car may have stalled as the second driver pulled away. This resulted in a few vital seconds being lost, with victory ultimately going the way of an E-type Jaguar.
Our CEO, Mike, has driven a similar TVR and said it was a very tricky clutch to get to grips with, being just like an on/off switch — except with about 440 bhp or nothing! Remember, there are no driver aids whatsoever in cars from this period. This short, very light but massively powerful car certainly takes some driving. Mike said he’s looking forward to seeing you all again in 2027!
